Festival Style Wish List

For a girl, one of the best things about going to a festival is shopping for your outfit. The good thing about festivals is you can get away with wearing wacky, eclectic and colourful clothes without being judged. In fact, the wackier you look the better! Here are a few of my favourite festival must-haves of this year…

1. The tie-dye peace T-shirt . Perfect for embracing your hippy side and for keeping cool when the days get too hot.

2. The flower headband. In my opinion this is the ultimate festival accessory and it looks great with any outfit.

3. Black Doc Marten boots. As well as being a cool fashion statement, these will keep your feet comfy as you dance all day.

4. Leather brown rucksack. I want one of these so bad! Rucksacks are a great way of carrying your belongings around with you all day.

5. Flower crop top. In fact any crop top will look good at a festival, whether it’s with denim shorts, dungarees, or maxi skirts. Although not a great thing to wear if your self conscious of your tum like me (I better start working on my sit-ups!)

6. Tie-dye denim shorts. Denim shorts are great to wear at festivals as they’re comfy and will keep you cool, and with a little tie-dye they look nice too!

7. Hunter wellingtons. They’re cool and will keep you dry and mud free if the heavens decide to open on you (which will almost certainly happen if you’re in England). My favourite are the red!

8. Feather head-gear. This, along with any other head gear, is great if you want to get into the festival spirit.

9. Ray Bans. These are a must if the suns is out. In my opinion, colourful Ray Bans like these turquoise ones, are a great buy if you want something a little different to your standard aviators.

10. Neon tribal skirt. Great to wear at night at a DJ-dance party.

11. Dungarees. In my opinion, these all the best things to have this summer. When I have these on I feel like I’m back in 1998.

12. Sport T-shirt. All the rage this summer, these T-shirts look great with anything from dungarees to Doc Martens.

But most of all, if you’re going to a festival this summer, as well as looking great make sure you have a laugh and have fun!

Festival Style 2013

Fashion, Summer

Summer has arrived and the festival season is now upon us! I was lucky enough to go to Latitude this summer but I’ve also been checking out the TV coverage of this year’s Coachella and Glastonbury. Instead of being impressed with all the music acts, I can’t get enough of all the celebrity fashion eye candy.  Festivals and fashion go hand-in-hand, and I’m sure I’m not the only girl out there who would meticulously plan her festival outfits weeks before the event. Here are a few of my favourite celebrities who rocked on the style front at this year’s festivals…

Spring Time Wish List

Fashion, Inspiration, Summer, Wish List

Spring has finally arrived!

Well…

kind of…

If I ignore the on-going blizzards and cold, dark nights I can fool myself into thinking that Spring is here.  But now that the 1st April has dutifully arrive I can’t help wondering…where are the sunny skies?  And the chirping birds? And the blooming daffodils? Why has the temperature failed to reach barely above zero? I’m starting to get slightly bitter and annoyed that my newly bought fake tan and denim shorts have been regretfully left untouched. I think it’s about time my pasty legs were allowed a little fresh air.

But as it stands, warm weather still seems a distant thing of the future. So to cheer myself up as I continue to spend my evenings freezing my toes off and watching crap TV, I have compiled a yummy list of all things that I think are hot this Spring.

1. Lindt Chocolate Bunnies

This Easter weekend has been the perfect opportunity to gorge on everything chocolate. And the best chocolate out there has to be Lindt. These bunnies make great presents too.

2. Floral Flask

A flask is a perfect investment for when the days and evening start to warm up, and you start to venture outside for a bit of fresh air. Also the floral design will definitely get me in the mood for all the sunny days ahead.

3. Leather backpack

I adore this. As well as being a beautiful bohemian bag, it’s great for a weekend away, bike riding or if exploring a city.

4. After years and years yearning for them, I need to finally buy myself some Vans. They look great with anything from jeans to dresses, and this limited edition floral design is perfect for Spring.

5. Dip-dye Maxi Dress. My favourite thing to wear when the weather warms up is definitely a bright maxi dress (with a denim or leather jacket if it’s still a bit nippy). I especially like the colour of this one from River Island, and it would look great with gold jewellery.

6. Fruit Tea is the perfect drink for when the nights are still chilly and you are looking to detox for summer. The Pukka range is really good, this one being my favourite.

7. Denim Pinafore Dress. I think this is the perfect dress for summer as it is so versatile. It would look great layered with shirts, a striped vest, brown brogues, and even tights. I can’t wait to buy one!

8. I have become seriously addicted to Propercorn. It tastes so good and is a healthy alternative to crisps. I will be stocking up for Spring!

9. I want to start stocking up on these cute ceramic Love Hearts from Next. Their sweet sayings want me to start booking trips this Spring and going places.

10. The last thing on my wish list is a vintage bicycle with a wicker basket and leather bag. Being a broke 21-year-old I will definitely NOT be getting one of these (unless someone nice buys me one as a present) but a girl can dream.

Now what I would love to do (if I had the cash) is to stock up on all these lovely things that will make me happy this Spring and just…er…wait for Spring to arrive. Please cold weather go away! I am seriously concerned about my pasty legs. They aren’t looking too healthy!

12 Winter Must-Have Shoes

Fashion, Wish List

Dark evenings, runny noses and frosty mornings. As a sun lover I feel like there isn’t much to celebrate once the hands of winter start to tighten their icy grip. When darkness starts to fall as early as five in the afternoon, you know it’s time to pack away all your summer loves for next year. No more garden parties, no more sunbathing, and no more sangria’s. Sigh.

However, along with the end of sunny days comes the end of living like a tree-hugger. There is something about the hot weather that makes people let go of themselves a little, don’t you think? For example, every year as soon as the temperature rises, my muddy bare feet seem to stamp all over my love affair with shoes. In the summer I hate wearing shoes. Its just a fact. And it seems like I’m not the only one. People seem to become more free, let go of inhibitions, and put on a pair of Havianas that will last them for the all Summer long.

But by the time September arrives, I feel like a little pampering. I miss my love affair, I miss my shoes, and my feet could definitely do with a good scrub. Like I’ve said before, winter is good for one thing, and that’s fashion. The cold weather allows us to experiment with all sorts of fantastic footwear. I’m especially loving this season’s Gothic trend; from Doc Martens, to brothel creepers and anything leather and studded. This year I am definitely going to broaden my love affair a little and find some new candidates that are all the rage this Autumn.

Oh shoes how I have missed you!

1. Lace-up platforms. The cream colour give these platforms a more feminine feel.

2. Floral wedges. Bang-on trend with Gothic winter roses.

3. Hunter Wellies. Perfect for playing in the snow and walks in the country.

4. Pink Doc Martens. Before this year I wouldn’t have even dreamed of wearing these, but all of a sudden they are looking rather cool…

5. Chelsea Boots. Great teamed up with jeans and a fur gilet.

6. Boat shoes. I’ve always been in love with these. They are so comfortable and stylish.

7. Brothel Creepers. My relationship with these are rather complicated. You either love them or hate them. But they are definitely on the ‘Hot List’ this Autumn.

8. Slipper shoes. Chic and comfy. That is all.

9. Studded heels. I love studs and I love heels. Put them together and its Gothic heaven.

10. Brogues. I need to get me a pair of these. Would look great with grey socks and a wool coat.

11. Doc Martens. Again, I just can’t seem to get them out my head. I’ve just got to brave, take the plunge and buy a pair..

12. Vans. I’m a Converse girl myself and I’ve never owned a pair of Vans, but I think it’s time to get on the band-wagon.

13. Leopard-print cat slippers. Cute cat face + shoes = girly heaven. How can you go wrong with a pair of geeky/quirky flats?

So with all these choices this winter I’m definitely going to pamper my tootsies a little. Oh I’m in shoe heaven.

Winter Wish List

Fashion, Wish List

The only good thing to come from the end of summer and the start of cold and gloomy nights, is the excuse for a new winter wardrobe. As it starts to get dark outside by 5PM, instead of sunbathing I now spend my time scouring the internet for the perfect woolly coat. Yes I buy one every year and now own about twenty, but times change don’t they? And so does taste. The coat I fell in love with and religiously wore last year, now looks a little frazzled and pathetic on the coat hanger. We are no longer an item. Instead I am excitedly on the prowl for my new love affair.

Summer is by far my favourite season, but winter certainly seems the time for fashion. The cold weather provides the opportunity to wrap up in layers of fabulous trends. This year’s Gothic trend definitely does it for me. I’ve fallen in love with the Khaki shirts, baroque cardigans, and studded leather jackets. My wardrobe needs an update with all these wonderful winter goodies. All I need now is some money…

I can dream.

1. Studded Military Jacket, River Island. Perfect teamed up with a par of skinnies and biker boots.

2. Gold Baroque cardigan, River Island. So romantic.

3. Rusty Floppy Hat, River Island. My ultimate accessory. Perfect with a maxi skirt and fur gilet.

4. Two-toned boyfriend jacket with fur, River Island. All of this season’ trends rolled into one!

5. Sheep-skin suede jacket, River Island. This just looks cosy. That is all.

6. Dark red floral Devore cape, River Island. I love how vintage this looks. Great with jeans.

7. Studded-collared denim dress, Topshop. Great with coloured tights and a brown satchel.

8.Studded-collared khaki gilet. I really want this. Could look great with hunter wellies.

9. Fur gilet, Topshop. I have fallen in love!

10. Metallic Leggings, River Island. Would need a bit of courage to wear these.

11. Two-toned khaki jacket, Topshop. Would look great with a pair of vans.

Please please please God, Let me win the lottery!
